Serragrilli Barbaresco is from the producer's Crus Storici series and is more of a modern Barbaresco. It is named after Serragrilli vineyard, known for being one of the best quality vineyards in Barbaresco. The Narbiolo variety of Barbaresco is very tannic and acidic, producing hard-to-reach wines when young. Modern-style Barbaresco is made to be more fruitful and enjoyable even at a young age, without sacrificing traditional quality. Barbaresco is slightly lighter compared to the same variety produced by Barolo, and is described as more feminine in comparison. With Barolo as king of wines, Barbaresco is the queen of wines. A companion of elegant meat dishes: beef fillets and steaks, sheep, including reindeer and smaller game. Garnishes and sauces may have woody and herbal tones. When cooled, the wine is slightly lighter, making it suitable for calf and duck. Medium bodied but also rich, tannic and acidic. The wine leaves a very long and elegant spicy, fig and lively aftertaste in the mouth. Remaining sugar: 0,4/l.
